Frequently asked questions
Which conversions are supported?
DOC to DOCX, XLS to XLSX and PPT to PPTX. This tool does not change the document type: a Word file stays a Word file. Use Office to PDF if you need a PDF.
Will the result look exactly the same?
LibreOffice handles the conversion. Fonts, pagination, charts, formulas and animations can differ from Microsoft Office. Review the converted document before sharing or printing.
Are macros and passwords supported?
The output formats do not retain VBA macros. Password-protected documents cannot be converted. Save an unencrypted copy in Microsoft Office before uploading.
Why is my DOC or XLS file rejected?
Some applications name HTML, RTF or CSV files with an Office extension. This converter accepts genuine binary Office files, not renamed text formats.
Can I convert several files at once?
Yes. Upload up to 10 files within the combined 20 MB limit. A batch returns a ZIP only when every file converts successfully.
How are uploaded files handled?
Files are uploaded to the ToolTiny server for processing. Temporary job files are removed after the download response or a processing failure. Processing is limited to five minutes per job.
